Senior Project Manager

Steve Brown is a senior project manager working with EGI’s Supply Chain Transformation Center.

As an experienced advisor and business advocate, Steve helps business leaders expand their addressable market by leveraging their core competencies, while strengthening their competitive positioning through a focus on improved operating profitability and time to market.  In his project manager role at EGI, Steve will works with small service and manufacturing businesses, across eleven Southeast Michigan Counties, to help define and implement plans in support of the rapidly evolving EV/mobility market roadmap. 

A life-long resident of Southeast-Michigan, Steve has a personal stake to help the region transition with the evolving EV/mobility market roadmap. Four generations of his family have worked in the automotive industry: including his daughter, an OEM marketing director, and his son, an engineering manager with a large tier one. He views the region as a centerpiece of manufacturing and innovation in the United States and hopes to see it continue for generations to come.

Before joining EGI in 2022, Steve was a Global Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions for Amcor Packaging out of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois. He led the company’s due diligence and implementation of strategic acquisitions, globally.  Steve has also held senior leader positions in corporate strategy, procurement, product management, and research & development.   He began his career at Ford Motor Company as a manufacturing engineer.  

Outside of work, Steve spends time with his wife, 2 adult children (and spouses), and new grandson.  He enjoys working on wood and metal projects through Maker Works, a community workshop in Ann Arbor.  He also dabbles in real estate development having recently entered short-term rental market as a property owner.

Steve has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan. He also has completed executive development programs at the Wharton School of Business and the IESE School of Business in Barcelona, Spain.  Steve is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt in the Lean and DFSS disciplines.
