In her dual roles at the Economic Growth Institute and the Electric Vehicles Center, Jessi Kittel leads strategic initiatives within Workforce Development and Education, focusing on building a talent pipeline for the burgeoning electric vehicle industry.

Jessi has over a decade of success managing complex initiatives across several sectors. She utilizes this experience to facilitate stakeholder engagement, effectively manage outreach and partnerships, and devise comprehensive program strategies. She coordinates with companies, educators, and community members to address workforce needs in the automotive industry.

Jessi’s motivation is intertwined with her Michigan heritage, focusing her efforts on boosting the state’s economy and supporting the community that shaped her. She is dedicated to lifelong learning and professional development with an emphasis on organizational practices. 

Before joining the Institute, Jessi managed projects and strategic initiatives at Tufts University and the University of Michigan across several domains, including science communication, digital learning, virtual and augmented reality, public engagement, institutional policy, and research regulation. Throughout her career, Jessi has showcased her institutions’ achievements and her specialized knowledge through articles, workshops, and presentations.

Jessi has a B.S. in Evolutionary Anthropology and Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Science from the University of Michigan, and a M.S. Science Communication and Public Engagement from the University of Edinburgh.
