MICHIGAN CERTIFICATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (MCAP)

Resources and Funding

The Michigan Certification Assistance Program (MCAP) is a statewide initiative designed to help Michigan manufacturers obtain the certifications and compliance credentials necessary to compete for defense and aerospace business opportunities.

The program provides financial assistance covering 50%–90% of eligible certification costs, with funding of up to $25,000 per company.

Eligible Certifications

  • Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)
  • AS9100
  • ISO 9001
  • Joint Certification Program (JCP) certification
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance
  • Other approved industry-recognized credentials

Why MCAP?

MCAP reduces barriers that prevent Michigan manufacturers from entering or expanding within the defense and aerospace sectors. The program provides financial assistance and project management support to help eligible companies obtain essential industry certifications and meet compliance requirements.
