Brooke Sweeney is a project manager working with EGI’s cybersecurity programs. 

As a project manager, Brooke helps companies in Michigan that support the Department of Defense (DoD) to better understand and achieve cybersecurity compliance. Additionally, to ensure the defense supply chain remains strong, Brooke provides succession planning support to companies in the defense industrial base.

Brooke has been acknowledged for her service to the Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability, a non-profit organization that aims to further research in the area of corporate sustainability. She has worked inside a variety of organizations including research, student, and business entities. She uses her expertise to move forward cybersecurity projects with manufacturers across Michigan. 

Born and raised in Michigan, and growing up in a small community, Brooke understands the importance of economic development for the growth and sustainability of healthy communities. For Brooke, it is not just about helping businesses succeed, but about supporting communities and their members so that they can continue to thrive.

Before joining EGI in 2021, Brooke was an administrative specialist for the Erb Institute at the University of Michigan. She led the daily operations of the institute and worked to better improve efficiency from an organizational leadership lens. She began her career with Michigan Dining, also at the University of Michigan where she was responsible for organizational change management including implementation of new policies, processes, and software. 

Outside of work, Brooke is an avid cook and has taught herself the art of making French desserts. When she is not in the kitchen, Brooke enjoys visiting farmer’s markets, playing both indoor and sand volleyball, and spending time with her family and friends.

Brooke has a B.A. in environmental studies from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor College of Literature, Science and the Arts and an M.B.A from the University of Michigan – Flint School of Management with a specialization in organizational leadership. Brooke is also a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) through the International Project Management Association (IPMA).
