James Huebschman is a project manager working with GLTAAC. 

With a varied manufacturing background and experience, James connects business leaders with resources to help improve companies and drive innovation. Through his work at GLTAAC, he supports businesses across Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. 

James has worked with over 20 firms across the tri-state region. His accomplishments include performing market research and financial assessments for several companies and aiding in various projects to help reimagine companies to better compete with global competition. He also has  led and coached student teams in the Reimagining Companies class, a course offered in collaboration with the College of Engineering’s Center for Entrepreneurship.. 

A native of Michigan, James feels great pride in helping local businesses in the area. He views the region as the backbone of manufacturing in the United States and believes in the importance of strengthening the manufacturing sector for the future. 

Before joining EGI (as a research associate in 2018 and a project manager in 2019), James was a project engineer at Flexfab in Hastings, Michigan, launching turbocharger ducting components for FCA, General Motors, and Ford. He began his career as a Production Engineer at LG Chem Michigan supervising the manufacturing of lithium ion batteries for the Chevy Volt. Outside of work, James likes to go on adventures with his wife Ashley, dog Lulu, and their newest addition, daughter Eleni. He enjoys swimming, gardening, cooking, and consuming Michigan craft beers. 

James has a B.S.E in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
