LaTricia Mitchell is a project manager working with EGI’s community programs.
LaTricia’s work with the Economic Growth Institute capitalizes on her leadership in community engagement, facilitation, and planning. Through her work at EGI, she supports communities across the Detroit, Lansing, and Flint areas. LaTricia focuses on stakeholder outreach, strategic planning, and technical assistance across these regions. Her work partners with community leaders facing transition while prioritizing listening, equity, and capacity building.
LaTricia has been recognized regionally for her love for integrating strategy and a deep commitment to equity and inclusion. Her work in the nonprofit space has championed efforts in fund development, outreach campaigns, and intercultural partnerships.
LaTricia is excited to support the work across the region. Having grown up in communities much like the ones she serves with EGI, she recognizes the importance of advocacy, inclusive planning, and mission-driven leadership.
Before joining EGI in 2023, LaTricia was a regional director of a national nonprofit serving college students. She led several DEI initiatives and programming, supporting stakeholder engagement through outreach, project management, and developing local/national/international partnerships. LaTricia is also trained in the discipline of social work, using her experience and commitment to support the needs of underserved communities.
Outside of work, LaTricia enjoys spending time in her community of family and friends. She enjoys staying active through kayaking and exploring new parks. In her free time, she loves watching pro basketball and trying out new plant-based recipes.
LaTricia has a B.A. in Africana Studies from The College of Wooster and a Master in Social Work from Wayne State University.
