C&N Manufacturing
Background
C&N Manufacturing has been in business since 1979 as a certified woman-owned small business. With their early beginning as a machining company, C&N later expanded to include machine vision and robotic controls. C&N has built its reputation by successfully completing projects that no other companies would attempt. Whether they are designing an error-proofing system for their own facility or supplying customers with a precision-machined CNC part, they have proven to be dedicated to meeting their customers’ needs. The long-term commitment and extensive experience of C&N’s design and manufacturing staff have allowed them to design and manufacture to meet the highest quality standards as well as provide customer service that goes above and beyond what’s expected. C&N is ISO certified as well as ISO 13485 (Medical) and AS 9100 (Aerospace) compliant.
A CNC CMM Implementation project, including installation, set-up, and training, became an apparent and real need for C&N Manufacturing. More specifically, having a fully-implemented, versatile, compact design CMM, featuring best-in-class speed and accuracy, exceptional contamination resistance, designed and implemented around the Company’s shop-floor measurement requirements, coupled with the Client’s connectivity requirements, became a critical element to the successful maintenance and growth of C&N.
Challenges
A CNC CMM Implementation project, including installation, set-up, and training, became an apparent and real need for C&N Manufacturing. More specifically, having a fully-implemented, versatile, compact design CMM, featuring best-in-class speed and accuracy, exceptional contamination resistance, designed and implemented around the Company’s shop-floor measurement requirements, coupled with the Client’s connectivity requirements, became a critical element to the successful maintenance and growth of C&N.
Solutions
Creating an actionable CNC CMM Implementation plan, with installation, set-up, and training, enabled our Client to realize the full potential of newly purchased shop-floor inspection equipment, aligned with their technology roadmap and business objectives. Key tasks and deliverables included:
- Assessing the Client’s technical requirements, including available floor space and facility footprint, while providing a tailored plan with respect to the implementation and installation of our Client’s specific MiSTAR 555 CNC CMM shop floor equipment needs.
- Assessing and consult on the client’s training as it directly relates to the proper and effective/efficient use of specified CNC CMM shop floor equipment.
- Providing recommendations on applicable usage techniques.
Results
Through collaboration with EGI’s Supply Chain Transformation Center (STC), a preferred consultancy group, and C&N Manufacturing technical team members, the specific MiSTAR 555 Shop Floor CNC CMM was implemented. This project included full installation, complete set-up, training for three (3) personnel, training documentation, as well as managed services (12 months of Help Desk support) thereby providing ongoing support plans for the Client’s operational use and efficient operation of equipment.
